Before introducing a robot or changing products, you can review the equipment layout and operating paths in a virtual cell. To inform decisions on site, the model needs to reflect actual dimensions, tooling and control conditions.
What to Review
- Reach: product loading and unloading positions, and robot poses
- Interference: clearance between tools, products, fixtures and equipment
- Sequence: door, chuck and gripper signals, and wait conditions
- Cycle time: robot motion, equipment processing and waiting
Isaac Sim and MuJoCo
Isaac Sim uses USD to build robot and equipment scenes and connect physics and sensor simulation. It can help you review cell layouts alongside camera fields of view.
MuJoCo is a physics engine for joint dynamics, contact and friction. It can help you examine motion under different actuation and gripping conditions.
CNC Machine Tending Recordings
Compare the same example approaching the workpiece, entering the machine, and unloading and returning. Engine settings and recording points differ, so the videos alone cannot establish differences in speed or accuracy. These recordings do not show a digital twin linked to real equipment in real time or a completed customer installation.
Applying the Results on Site
Build the model from the layout, product specifications and tool information, then review paths, interference and sequences. Next, connect the actual controller and equipment signals and verify operation during low-speed commissioning.
